Information shared with a shipping provider includes city and zip code, to calculate shipping rates.

Tax calculations

Tax Calculations are provided by TaxJar. TaxJar receives information related to your purchase, including the value of goods in your customer’s cart, the value of shipping, your address, and the destination address. All data that flows between our site and Automattic, and between Automattic and TaxJar, is encrypted, end to end, via HTTPS. Payment processing

Our payment processor (Stripe) requires merchants to always send at least level 1 data, like the charge date and amount. All card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in a separate hosting environment, and doesn’t share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services including our API and website.
